Every Child Ready to Read Project (ECRR)

The Every Child Ready to Read Project was initiated by the Public Library Association in collaboration with the Association for Library Service to Children to improve reading development in young children. The ECRR project was created because of the opportunity public libraries have to impact a substantial amount of preschool age children and their caregivers. This project outlines six pre-literacy skills that children should master to become great readers. The six skills are print motivation, vocabulary, phonological awareness, print awareness, narrative skills and letter knowledge. SQR Solutions offers a variety of preschool -level educational software to assist young children in the learning and achievement of the six pre-literacy skills.
